In my role as a Product Designer at HackerRank, I spearheaded multiple projects aimed at enhancing the developer experience on the platform. This initiative was designed to increase platform engagement, improve problem-solving tools, and streamline the job application process for developers, thereby reinforcing HackerRank's position as the leading tech hiring platform that connects highly skilled developers with top companies.

HackerRank's challenge was to improve its core offerings in a way that not only retained its existing user base but also attracted new users.
Despite its popularity, feedback indicated that users desired more intuitive navigation, enhanced problem-solving tools, and a more seamless interview.
The platform needed a design overhaul to address these needs while maintaining its robust challenge and competition infrastructure.
User Research: Conducted extensive interviews, surveys, and usability tests with both developers and hiring companies to identify key areas for improvement and to understand the diverse needs of our user base.
Design and Prototyping: Led the redesign of the user interface and experience, focusing on simplifying navigation, enhancing coding tools, and streamlining the job application process. Employed Figma for creating interactive prototypes to visualize proposed improvements.
Collaboration with Engineering and Product Teams: Worked closely with engineering and product teams to ensure the feasibility of design implementations, emphasizing user engagement and satisfaction metrics as primary success indicators.
Iterative Development and Testing: Adopted an agile development process, incorporating user feedback at every iteration to refine and adjust the design and functionality, ensuring the end product truly met user needs.
Launch and Evaluation: Oversaw the rollout of the redesigned features, followed by a comprehensive evaluation phase to measure impact on user engagement, platform usability, and job placement success rates.
